Mesochoria
Mesochoria is a picturesque, traditional Greek village built on the mountain slopes, overlooking the Aegean sea in southern Evia. Only 15 minutes drive from the ferry port of Nea Styra, the approach to the village has breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and coastline.
An imposing white church overlooks Mesochoria and there are 3 (very old fashioned) Kafenions, 2 meat tavernas and a very basic local shop. The village is served by a local bakery, fish and vegetable vans on a daily basis.
The two local sandy beaches are less than 10 minutes drive away and are among the most beautiful in the area. The smallest, Almirikis, has one fish taverna and a cantina for snacks. The beach at Limnionas has 4 tavernas serving local fish, meat and home cooked dishes.
There are more than a dozen delightful beaches, traditional Greek fishing villages with tavernas and the livelier resort of Nea Styra, all within a 40 minute drive.
